Hadeel Ibrahim is the founding executive director of the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, which was established in 2006 to support good governance and great leadership in Africa. She is also on the board of Refugees International and UNESCO’s LEAP programme, which fosters local effort and preservation of cultural heritage. Prior to this, she spent time with the Africa section of Actis private equity investors, and with the private equity fund management group EMP Africa. Hadeel graduated from Bristol university with a degree in Politics and Philosophy

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.
